Story of Elegance

Hello and thank you for stopping by today.  I love it when someone I know does something kind.  I try to always acknowledge kindness so I keep a stash of cards on hand specifically for that purpose.

Today I’m sharing a card that I made during a card challenge among my Stampin’ Up! Inking Royalty group in January.  This card features the beautiful Forever Gold Laser Cut Specialty Paper.  Instead of showcasing the beautiful gold foil of this paper, I turned it over and colored the back side of the paper with my Stampin’ Blends.

When I made this card, I knew that I wanted to incorporate the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper, so this lead me to this color inspiration.

As always, my hope is that today’s card will inspire you to order a few items and create your own special kindness to share.  You’ll be glad you did!

Here’s the card I made.

A Closer Look

The white backing of the Forever Gold Laser Cut Specialty Paper means that you can create beautiful cards in your favorite colors using our Stampin’ Blends!

Following are the steps I used to create this card:

1. Cut a 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ panel of  Petal Pink card stock and adhere to a card base made with Thick Basic White card stock.

2. Cut a 3 3/4″ x 5″ panel of  Calypso Coral card stock and center it onto the Petal Pink panel.

3.  Cut a 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″ panel of Peony Garden Designer Series Paper and center it onto the Calypso Coral panel.

4.  Use the brush tip of the dark Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blend to color the back of the Forever Gold Laser Cut piece.  When dry adhere to the center of the card.

5.  Die cut a circle using the Stitched Shapes dies and stamp the sentiment using Calypso Coral ink.  The sentiment I used is from the Simply Succulents stamp set.  Add extra leaves to the back of the sentiment using cuts from the Forever Gold Laser Cut paper.  Adhere the sentiment to the center of the colored laser cut piece using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

6.  Add  three Basic Pearls to the sentiment panel.

A kindness card and coordinating envelope

Add a coordinating piece of DSP to the envelope flap, and this beautiful project is complete!
