The Story of Elegance
OK. I have a confession. I’m that person who regularly watches Hallmark movies and cries at the end – every time. Yes, the Hallmark movies with the singular and ridiculously predictable story line – the ones that I have been watching repeatedly for years. And now, I’m giddy because the Hallmark holiday movies have started to air! Yay! From now until Christmas I can watch all the sappy holiday movies that my heart can stand! Woo hoo! Stop rolling your eyes at me. We all have our vices. Ha! Ha! It was so much fun crafting cards for today’s post as a movie played along with me. Joy! Joy! No, I didn’t grab a mug of cider and cookies … yet. Hallmark holiday movies and card crafting at the same time – – be still my heart.
I’m continuing to share our wonderful holiday stamp sets and designer series papers. Today I’m sharing the Perfectly Plaid bundle and the Wrapped in Plaid designer series paper. And oh what a duo they make!
The great holiday sentiments and the tree punch make it so easy to create festive holiday designs. The picture doesn’t do this designer series paper justice. There is gold threading in each of the plaid designs. Very exquisite.
Here are a few cards that I’m happy to share with you today.
This card showcases the gorgeous detail of the Wrapped in Plaid paper. I’ve paired a panel of Cherry Cobbler card stock with the DSP and added a strip of Gold Shimmer ribbon to marry the two panels. I stamped the sentiment onto a label created using a die from the Stitched Rectangle die set. Stampin’ Dimensionals were added to the back of the sentiment panel for added dimension and to make space for additional ribbon. The Gold Glitter Enamel Dots coordinate perfectly and add just the right touch for upper corner.
I layered the two panels horizontally and added 3 trees atop the Silver Metallic Edge ribbon to create this card. The trees were stamped onto Whisper White Card stock using Tuxedo Black ink and punched with the Tree punch from the bundle. I taped off the Ho Ho Ho stamp and off stamped a single Ho onto each tree. Finally, I stamped the sentiment onto a label created by using one of the Stitched Rectangle dies.
I love using non-traditional colors at Christmas. It just adds a bit of the unexpected. Night of Navy and Blushing Bride make a great pair. I layered a panel of Wrapped In Plaid designer series paper onto Blushing Bride card stock and placed both of these onto an embossed Night of Navy panel. The three trees were stamped in Night of Navy and punched with the Tree punch. Each tree is topped with copper toned Star Designer Elements.
Here’s what I used for these cards. You can shop with me 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!
Love that paper and the tree punch. What a great set of cards.
Thanks Lynn. I didn’t order this bundle with my original holiday order. So glad that I changed my mind. I like it sooo much.
Love the Perfectly Plaid Bundle! Thanks for sharing your beautiful cards.
Thank you Kelly!
