Hello!

Happy Wednesday to you!

Midweek Crafting Inspiration: A Holiday Shopping Find – Billowing Blooms

Discovering LDRS Creative

Recently, I was online in search of a new stamp cleaner. In my search I came across the company LDRS Creative.

Once I landed on their website, I noticed an enticing sale on press plates, stencils, and dies. Naturally, I decided to spend a bit more time browsing their selection.

While I successfully found the stamp cleaner I needed, I was also delighted to discover several press plate bundles offered at substantial discounts.

I hadnโ€™t planned which products to use for todayโ€™s project, but since my recent purchases were conveniently on my desk, I chose to try them out.

The delicate font of the Billowing Blooms Press Plate immediately caught my eye and helped me decide which product to feature.

Having purchased both the press plate and the coordinating dies, I gathered my Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil machine and began working on my card.

Foiling First

Actually, I started by selecting colors for the background of my floral design and settled on a combination of mauve and pink.

With my background colors chosen, I used Blush Glimmer Foil by Spellbinders to foil both the florals and the sentiment onto smooth white cardstock, utilizing the Billowing Blooms Press Plate.

Preparing the Card Base

For the card base, I cut panels of mauve and pink cardstock, each measuring 3 3/4″ x 5″, and then trimmed them into triangles.

I attached the triangles onto a white cardstock panel of the same size and dry embossed the assembled piece with the Circle Illusion 3D Embossing Folder by Spellbinder.

Next, I dry embossed a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ white cardstock panel with the same folder and adhered it to an A2 card base.

Adding Color and Dimension

I colored the foiled floral images using alcohol markers and die cut them with the coordinating dies. To add dimension, I cut an additional piece and glued the two together before attaching the die cut to the card front.

Then I die cut the foiled sentiment and placed it beneath the florals on the card.

Finishing Touches

To finish the card, I added gems along the seam where the triangles meet.

For a coordinated look, I dry embossed the envelope flap as the final touch.

A Quick Word of Thanks

Before sharing my card, I want to express my gratitude for your presence, for reading my blog, and for providing me with feedback and encouragement throughout the year. Each thumbs up and every comment are deeply appreciated.

This marks my final blog post of the year, as Iโ€™ll be spending the next two weeks celebrating the holidays with family and friends.

I wish you a wonderful Christmas and a joyful New Year!
