Hello!

Happy Wednesday to you!

Midweek Crafting Inspiration: A Year In Bloom December Winter Flowers

Like many of you, I find that I always need an extra Christmas card or two at the last minute.
Choosing the Right Embossing Folder

It didn’t take me long to turn to the 2025 edition of the A Year In Bloom 3D embossing folders for a fast and easy Christmas card.

This lovely set contains 12 beautiful embossing folders, one for each month. Of course, I opted to use the December – Winter Flowers for this super easy card.

As a mattre of fact, all the products I used for this card except tje ribbon and white card stock are by Lisa Horton Crafts, dies, inks and sentiments.

Preparing the Card Base

I started by using the largest rectangle of the Stitched Rectangle Dies by Lisa Horton Crafts to die cut a rectangle out of white card stock. Then I dry embossed the rectangle using the Winter Flowers folder.

Adding Color and Dimension

Next, I used a 1” blending blush and Hokusani Navy Matt Blending ink to lightly ink the snow at the top of the embossed panel. To add color to the winter flowers at the bottom of the panel, I swiped it with Silver Shine Metallic ink.

For visual interest, I die cut a panel out of the center of the inked and embossed rectangle. Then I reimbossed both pieces again with the Winter Flowers 3D embossing folder to add the dimension that was lost during the die cutting.

I inked the front of a 5 x 7” card base and added the die cut frame to the front, adding foam tape to the frame.

Finishing Touches

To complete the card, I added ribbon to the back of a foiled sentiment I created using the Festive Circle Sentiments Press Plate and Die Set, and placed it on the card front using foam squares.

For a final touch I embossed the envelope flap and lightly inked it with Hokusai Navy Matt Blending Ink by Lisa Horton Crafts.

This Week’s Card

Here’s the card I created using these products.

Super simple, incredibly easy, and very elegant. I hope you’ll give it a try. The color combinations you can use  to make this card are endless.  Happy crafting!!
