Story of Elegance
Happy Tuesday and thanks for stopping by!
Before I get into today’s project – Be sure to check out the details on our ONE DAY Stamp Set sale coming on Thursday, September 15th. See below for details.
This morning I was playing with the Cottage Rose stamp set – still lying on my desk from a couple of weeks ago. I really like this stamp set and the muted neutral tones of the Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper (DSP). I used them both to create today’s card.
Another thing I used is a card sketch. You can find sketch’s in so many places, but I chose to use one from the Stampin’ Pretty Sketchbook by Mary Fish.
Card sketches are great to use when you need don’t want to spend time working on a design for your project. It worked out perfectly for me today because time was at a premium this morning.
So here’s the card I created using this sketch and the aforementioned products.

Cottage Rose Best Wishes
I made a few minor modifications to the sketch to fit the products that I wanted to use today. One of the modifications was the use of stitched dies for multiple items, not just the focal image. I really like the added detail of the stitching in the die cuts. I used the Stylish Shapes die set for this card. If you don’t have this die set, I highly recommend it. It is so versatile and easily bumps up the look and polish of your project.

A Closer Look
Elegance Made Easy
Following are the quick steps to recreate this card.
First, make your cuts:
- Abigail Rose DSP – 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ and 3″ x 4 1/4″
- Die cuts:
- Stamp the floral image using Early Expresso ink onto Basic White card stock and use the square die from the Stylish Shapes die set that give the tightest fit.
- Use the next largest square die to cut a square using Early Expresso card stock
- Use a banner die to cut a banner using Early Expresso card stock
- Punch:
- None
Add the largest cut of Abigail Rose DSP onto an A2 card base made with Thick Basic White card stock, then add the second piece to it. Note: An A2 card base is made by scoring an 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of card stock scored and folded at 5 1/4″.
Layer the die cut floral square onto the Early Expresso square.
Stamp the desired sentiment onto Basic White card stock and trim to fit using a paper trimmer.
Adhere the sentiment onto the banner, and then add the banner to the back of the floral square. Add the assembly to the card front.
Make a bow using Gold Simply Elegant trim and add to the card front.
Finish by adding Gold Festive Pearls to the flower center and to the DSP.
For the inside of the card, I stamped a flower using Early Expresso ink onto the corner of an 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic White card stock. Note: All of the stamped flowers are blended using a Blending Pencil.
To complete the project, stamp a flower on the front of the envelope and add a strip of DSP to envelope flap.
