Welcome to InKing Royalty’s January Blog Hop! We are having so much fun with our new Sale-a-Bration products and are excited to share some of that fun with you today. This month’s projects feature papers or stamp sets (or both!) from Stampin’ Up!’s January – February 2022 Sale-a-Bration brochure. After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

Story of Elegance

I was so excited when I saw all the fabulous products I could get FREE just for doing what I love doing anyway – buying fantastic high quality crafting products from Stampin’ Up!

There are soooo many wonderful products to choose from but I settled on the Friendly Hello Bundle, comprised of the Friendly Hello stamp set and Designer Series Paper (DSP) for today’s card.

I tend to shy away from coloring because frankly, I’m not that good at it.  However, because I really like the bird on the branch, my like of the stamp outweighed my hesitancy to color on my card projects.  As they say, Love wins!

Here is the card I created using this sweet stamp set.

Friendly Hello Note Card

There are several things I did in making this card that are outside the norm for me.  So, I’m particularly proud of how this card turned out.  I tend to stick with a mono chromatic color scheme, not to color, and I usually don’t stamp on DSP.  In this card I did all of these things, and it really felt good to try something different.

You can’t see it well, but I used Wink of Stella on the flower center and the Balmy Blue flower die cuts.

A Closer Look

Elegance Made Easy

Here’s how to recreate this card.

To start, cut a 4 1/4″ x 5 3/8″ piece of Fresh Freesia card stock.  Cut a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Friendly Hello DSP and use the Stamparatus to stamp the Hello Friend greeting in the right corner of the DSP using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  Add the DSP to the Fresh Freesia panel and adhere to a  card base made with Thick Basic White card stock.

Next, stamp the bird and branch image onto a piece of Basic White card stock and color using Stamping Blends.  On the bird: Ivory, Light Night of Navy and Dark Balmy Blue.  On the flower, branch and leaves: Light Fresh Freesia, Light Soft Suede and Light Old Olive.  Use Layering Ovals dies (ret.) to cut the stamped image and a larger oval in Fresh Freesia.

For the die cuts, use the new Bough  Punch to punch three leaves in Old Olive card stock.  Use the Flowers of Home dies to die cut three flowers each in Balmy Blue and  Fresh Freesia card stock.   Adhere the die cuts to the back of the stamped oval.  Add the Fresh Freesia oval to the card and add the sentiment panel to the card using Dimensionals.

Finish by coloring five Basic Pearls with Dark Fresh Freesia blends and add to the sentiment panel and adding Wink of Stella to the center of the flowers and the three Balmy Blue die cuts.

That’s it!
