Story of Elegance
Hello! Hello! Hello!
I am so excited to be back in my craft room and sharing cards with you.
It’s been since October 2023 that I last posted. Can you believe it?!!
I hope that it has been a safe and prosperous four months for you.
I have spent a great deal of my time away, working to get my Mom moved in. What a blessing it is to have her near! Then there were the holidays and the rest, as they say, is history.
During my hiatus I was able to give some thought to what I wanted my crafting venture to be going forward. I haven’t figured it all out yet, but one thing I’ve come to grips with is that my crafting business is not growing, so I will not focus on the business side of crafting for now. I gave it the old college try, but found myself unsuccessful and frustrated in trying to build a collective of crafters to join me as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator. With that said, I will continue to share my paper creations, but there will be little focus on the business side of Stampin’ Up! here. For now, I’m still a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator. I really love their products.
So, my hope is to resume posting twice a week on my blog on Tuesdays and Fridays as I was before and to create a video on my You Tube Channel once a week on Thursdays.
Time will tell what my actual schedule will be as I adapt to the changes. 🙂
I thought that I would start my first post of the year sharing one of my favorite bundles from the new January – April 2024 mini catalog, the Stippled Roses bundle. Flowers will always be my jam. I’m sure you’ve seen the new mini catalog. Don’t you just love all the new crafting products Stampin’ Up! offers? I sure do!
Here’s today’s card:
The die cuts do all the heavy lifting for this project.
Elegance Made Easy
Following are the quick steps to recreate this card.
First, make your cuts:
- Gray Granite card stock – 3 3/4″ x 5″
- Softly Stipled DSP – 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ (dry emboss using Layered Florals 3D embossing folder) and 3/4″ x 4
- Basic White card stock – 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Die cuts:
- Stamped large floral (Basic Gray Ink), foliage in Basic White, Gray Granite and flowers in Bubble Bath
- Punches
- None
Adhere Gray Granite panel to the front of an A2 card base made with Thick Basic White card stock. (Note: An A2 card base is made by cutting an 8 1/2″ x 11″ piece of Thick card stock in half on the long side. Score the 5 1/2″ by 8 1/2″ (half sheet) of card stock at 4 1/4 “.)
Add the embossed DSP onto the Gray Granite panel.
Arrange the die cuts to your liking and add to the card front along with a bit of silver thread.
Add a sentiment of your choice. I used a heat foiled sentiment and adhered with mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Embellish using silver pearls, or embellishment of choice.
For the inside, I printed my greeting onto the Basic White panel and added the DSP strip to the bottom of the panel before adhering to the inside of the card.
To complete the project, add a strip of embossed DSP to the envelope flap, and stamp a flower on the envelope front using Gray Granite ink.
Finding Your Creative Elegance
In the end, the beauty of paper crafting lies in its ability to connect us with our own creativity and with others. It’s a chance to slow down, unplug, and create something beautiful and meaningful with our own two hands. So why not give it a try today? You never know where your creativity might take you.

Thanks Lynn! I am so happy to be crafting again. It has been far too long. I lost my sister-in-law unexpectedly too, so it’s been a time. Glad I can craft. It’s so calming for me. Thanks for the feedback. I really appreciate it.
