Story of Elegance
Hello my fun and crafty friends!
Well, this has turned out to be a week of blues. I shared a Boho Blue and Crumb Cake card Tuesday. I created a blue themed card for the InKing Royalty Blog Hop on Wednesday. I presented a card with two different blues on my You Tube channel on Thursday, and today I’m back with another shade of blue.
I didn’t realize I liked blue that much. 😉
And I have a surprise for you. Today, I’m stamping with a new stamp set called Translucent Florals that will be available in one of our upcoming catalogs. I’ve had it for several weeks, and I was planning to wait before I shared it, but I couldn’t help myself. (This is exactly why I can’t buy Christmas gifts too early.)
This is the color combo I used.
Here’s the card I created – I won’t tell you anything about this lovely stamp set other than to say this may or may not be how the stamps are to be used.
I really love the translucent look of the stamps and can’t wait to share in more detail next month.
Elegance Made Easy
Following are the quick steps to recreate this card – well sorta. You’ll have to wait to make one just like this, but any floral stamp set will do until then.
First, make your cuts:
- Balmy Blue card stock – 4 1/8 x 5 3/8″ and emboss with the Basics 3D embossing folder.
- Basic White card stock – 4″ x 5/14″
- Die cuts:
- Use Basic White card stock and the largest Scalloped Contours Frame die to cut a frame.
- Punches
- None
Add the Balmy Blue panel to the front of an A2 card base made with Thick Basic White card stock. (Note: An A2 card base is made by cutting an 8 1/2″ x 11″ piece of Thick card stock in half on the long side. Score the 5 1/2″ by 8 1/2″ (half sheet) of card stock at 4 1/4 “.)
Stamp the flowers onto the Basic White die cut frame using Balmy Blue and Crumb Cake inks. Add the stamped panel to the card front using Foam Adhesive Sheets.
Use a scrap of Basic White card stock and Crumb Cake ink to stamp a sentiment and trim to fit. I used sentiment from the Darling Details stamp set. Add the sentiment to the center of the stamped frame using Dimensionals.
Finish by adding Silver Festive Pearls to accent.
To complete the project, stamp flowers onto the envelope front and flap to coordinate.
