Story of Elegance

Happy Friday!

I’m glad that you decided to stop by.  I just love sharing the cards I make, and with Stampin’ Up! products, it’s sooo easy to make lovely cards that look like I spent hours, rather than minutes to make.

The inspiration for today’s card came as I was organizing my Specialty Papers.  I have collected a lot over the last few months and wanted to get them cut down and into labeled bins.  I was feeling a bit ashamed that I had so many papers I had purchased but hadn’t used so I decided today’s the day to craft with some of them.

There was no method to my madness.  I just picked three papers that I liked and decided to go with it.  Since I was using paper I hadn’t crafted with, I decided to pair the paper with a bundle that I hadn’t featured before as well.  I chose the Artfully Layered Bundle which is comprised of the Artfully Layered stamp set and the Tropical Layers dies.

Here’s what I created.

Artfully Layered Get Well

This is my first use of the Linen Specialty Paper and I absolutely love it!  It is adhesive backed, stamp-able and easy to die cut. I will be using this a lot more and probably ordering another pack .  😉   This paper is a simple way to add some great texture to the card.

Elegance Made Easy

Here’s how to recreate this card.

To start, cut a 4 1/8″ by 5 3/8″ piece of Pale Papaya card stock and add it to an A2 card base made of Thick Basic White card stock.

Trim a 4″ x 5 3/8″ piece of Vellum Layering Designs paper and add it to the Pale Papaya panel using Mini Glue Dots.  Leave a strip of the cardstock showing on the left.

Stamp two leaves from the Artfully Layered stamp set in Pale Papaya ink onto Linen Specialty Paper and die cut.

Next die cut the leaves using Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen shades from the 2021-2023 In Color Shimmer Vellum paper.

Attach the die cut Vellum leaves to the card using Glue Dots, then add the Linen die cut leaves over them.

Add a bow to cover the point where the die cuts come together.  I used Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon, Simply Elegant trim and white craft store ribbon for my bow.

For the sentiment stamp in Pale Papaya ink and punch using the retired Pretty Label punch.  If you happen not to have that punch, just cut using the Layered Rectangles dies or simply cut a rectangle around the stamped sentiment using our Paper Trimmer.

To finish add 3 Pear Basic Jewels around the leaf collage.
