Story of Elegance

Hello!

It’s Friday – Yay!

I’m not sure what the weather is like where you are, but today in central Ohio it’s a big mish mash of everything.  Since I woke up this morning, there has been rain, sleet, snow and for the moment it is clear and sunny.  Go figure!

It’s kinda like my card today – a little bit of everything.  I’m using the Celebrate Flowers as my main product, but there’s a lot of other products thrown in too.

Here’s what I created:

Friendship card made with Stampin' Up! products

When I started working on this card, there was no sunshine to be found, so I wanted to create my own.  I chose soft spring colors primarily I think because I’m not seeing much of it when I look out my window. 🙂

Here’s the palate:

I used Basic White for this card, but Very Vanilla would be pretty too.  I went with Basic White though because I wanted heat emboss the the sentiment in white and I think it worked the best.

A Closer Look

Elegance Made Easy

Here’s how to recreate this card.

To start, cut a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Blushing Bride card stock and emboss using the Gingham Embossing Folder.  Add the embossed panel to an A2 card base made with Thick Basic White card stock.

Next use floral stamps from the Celebrate With Flowers and Quiet Meadow stamp sets to randomly stamp flowers and dragon flies onto a 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ piece of Basic White card stock.  Use a spatter stamp to stamp between the flowers to fill in some of the white space.  I used the stamp from the Merriest Moments stamp set, but any stamp will do.  Add the stamped panel to the embossed panel on the card base.

Die cut 3 butterflies in different colors from the Meadow dies set and use the circle from the Beautiful Shapes die set to cut a circle for the sentiment in Blushing Bride card stock.

Stamp the sentiment from Celebrate With Flowers onto the circle using VersaMark and heat emboss with White Embossing Powder.  (Personally, I like emboss on a scrap piece of card stock, heat emboss and then die cut, but the end result is the same.)  Add the sentiment to the card in the center of the stamped panel, then add the die cut butterflies.

Finish by adding small Pearl Basic Jewels randomly around the card.

NOTE: The Celebrating with You stamp set is retiring at the end of the month, and the Quiet Meadow and Meadow dies are staying for another year, yay!  however, the bundle is not.  So if you want the 10% bundle savings or the Celebrate With  You stamp set, order this month!   And remember, the Last Chance Sale is while supplies last.
