Story of Elegance

Hello!

Welcome to another terrific Tuesday!

Yesterday evening when I was trying to decide what card I wanted to make for today, the idea I came up with started with a product I thought I had on hand,  Paper Lattice.  In searching for it in my stash, I found that I had never ordered it.  🙁  But instead I found a product that I has purchased quite awhile ago and never used.  I take comfort in knowing I am not the only person this has happened to.  I am right, aren’t I?   Oh, please say yes!

The product I found was Dandy Laser-Cut Paper and with a few adjustments to the idea I had, I was good to go.

I know the rule of thumb is to never post with products that are not currently available, but the card that I made can still be created by substituting the Laser Cut paper with our Paper Lattice, that is not only available, but is on sale as part of our Last Chance Sale because it’s retiring soon.  That’s a win in my book!

So here’s what I made:

Hello greeting card made with Stampin' Up! products

Pansy Patch Hello

I really like the Pansy Patch bundle and the way that the products coordinate so well.  It’s especially cool that the  Pansy dies in the bundle actually cut the flowers in the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper.   I used the die to cut the flowers for the project.

Elegance Made Easy

Here’s how to recreate this card.

To start, use the Pansy Dies from the bundle to make the following cuts:

  • 3 Large Pansy flowers from the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper
  • 3 Leaves using Mossy Meadow card stock
  • 3 Leaves using Old Olive card stock

Layer the 3 sets of leaves together, off-setting just a little.

Use the 2  3/4″ x  4″ die from the Rectangle Stitched die set to cut a vertical rectangle into a  4″ x 5 1/4″ panel of Very Vanilla card stock.  Add the Laser Cut Paper (or Paper Lattice) to the back of the panel.

Arrange the die- cuts to your liking and adhere to the upper left corner of the panel.

Stamp the sentiment onto a scrap of Very Vanilla card stock using Blackberry Bliss ink, and cut with the die from the Rectangle Stitched die set. Add the sentiment to the base of the window on the panel.  (You only need to add adhesive to the bottom half of the sentiment strip.)

Add the completed panel to an A2 card base made with Thick Very Vanilla card stock using Foam Adhesive Strips.

Finish by adding a few of the cream colored Elegant Faceted Gems to the panel.

This is a one-stamp card – but it’s so pretty.
