Today I’m featuring the beautiful Celebrate Daisies Bundle, a product in our new 2023-2024 Annual Catalog.
When it comes to sending heartfelt greetings, nothing captures the essence of pure joy and innocence quite like a daisy. Delicate, vibrant, and exuding an undeniable charm, daisies have captured the hearts of millions throughout history. It’s true. Daisies were first found in Ancient Egypt, where they were often depicted in artwork and used in medicinal remedies. These lovely flowers have been enjoyed by people for centuries, and it’s easy to see why.
Daisies are known for their bright white petals and sunny yellow centers, which make them a popular choice for fresh cut flower arrangements and planting in gardens. But did you know that daisies have other uses as well? For example, daisy extract can be used in skincare products to help soothe and hydrate the skin. Some people also use daisy tea to help with digestion and alleviate anxiety. I haven’t been courageous enough to try that, but I use lots of other natural rememdies, so I think it’s likely that this would work.
I really like daisies and here is a sweet and simple card I made with today’s featured product.
I wanted some dimension for this card to add a little visual interest, so I popped up the flower on dimensionals.
A Closer Look
Elegance Made Easy
Following are the quick steps to recreate this card.
First, make your cuts:
- Basic Black card stock – 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″
- Lemon Lolly card stock – 3 5/8″ x 4 7/8″
- Basic White card stock – 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ (front) and 4″ x 5 1/4″ (inside)
- Die cuts:
- Use the large die from the Celebrate Daisies die set to cut the flowers and leaves in Basic White card stock
- Punches:
- None
Layer the Lemon Lolly panel onto the Basic Black panel and adhere to an A2 card base made with Thick Basic White card stock. (Note: An A2 card base is made by cutting an 8 1/2″ x 11″ piece of Thick Basic White card stock in half. Score and the 5 1/2″ by 8 1/2″ (half sheet) of card stock at 4 1/4 “.)
Stamp the flower stem and leaves onto the Basic White panel using Old Olive ink, then add to the card front.
Snip the die cut piece into separate pieces. Use the large daisy and the leaves for the project. Color the center of the daisy with a Light Lemon Lolly Stampin’ Blend. Color the leaves using Dark Old Olive Stampin’ Blend. Save the other flowers for another project.
Add Dimensionals to the back of the flower and adhere to the card front, then add the die cut leaves.
Stamp the sentiment using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used a sentiment from the fabulous Go To Greetings stamp set.
For the inside, I stamped three flowers onto the Basic White panel and colored the centers with Lemon Lolly Stampin’ Blends.
To complete the project, stamp and color flowers on the envelope flap and panel to coordinate.
