Story of Elegance
Welcome to InKing Royalty’s June Blog Hop! We are inspired by circles for this month’s hop and are excited to share our creations with you. We hope you love them! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
I enjoy participating in the InKing Royalty Blog Hop. It’s fun and it also encourages me to look at my card crafting a little differently each month.  I like the variety and “wide-openess” of the Hop topics.
This month’s topic ‘Circles’ is a fun one. I’ve actually been doing a lot with circles this month already. A few of my prior posts feature the Circle Sayings bundle as that was the feature product of my most recent stamp class.
This topic challenged me in a different way. Since I have several cards on hand that feature circles, I had to choose to not be lazy by using a card I had already created. 🙂
For today’s card, I was a little lazy, but I did create a different card – – – I just borrowed the idea for it from a card I had already made. I guess you could say I cased myself.
The color combination I used is quickly becoming one of my favorites and I used it for both cards.
Here’s the card I created:
Elegance Made Easy
Following are the quick steps to recreate this card.
First, make your cuts:
- Pool Party card stock – 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″, 3/4″ x 5 1/4″
- Pecan Pie card stock – 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Very Vanilla card stock – 4″ x 5 1/4″ (inside), 1″ x 5 1/4″
- Die cuts:
- Use the circles from the Stylish Shapes die set to cut one circle using Pool Party card stock and another circle (larger) using Very Vanilla card stock.
- Use the same die set to die cut these small flag for the sentiment.
- Punches:
- None
Add the Pool Party Panel to the front of an A2 card base made with Thick Very Vanilla card stock. (Note: An A2 card base is made by cutting an 8 1/2″ x 11″ piece of Thick card stock in half. Score the 5 1/2″ by 8 1/2″ (half sheet) of card stock at 4 1/4 “.)
Emboss the Pecan Pie panel using one of the Basics 3D embossings.
Adhere the Pool Party card strip to the Very Vanilla card strip, then put a strip of Pecan Pie Bordered Ribbon down the center of the assembly. Add to the embossed panel and then to the card front.
Stamp a flower onto the Pool Party die cut circle and the sentiment onto the flag die cut using Lost Lagoon ink. I used a flower from the Timeless Arrangements stamp set.
Glue the sentiment onto the stamped circle and adhere to the Very Vanilla Circle using Dimensionals.
Add a bow to the ribbon strip and a gem from the Adhesive Backed Sparkle Gems.
For the inside, I stamped a flower onto the Very Vanilla card stock panel and added it to the card.
To complete the project, I stamped flowers on the envelope front and flap to coordinate.
Here’s the card I made earlier for my stamp club that I cased. 😉

Oh my! I love this card and layout! These colors are an unexpected mix, but beautiful together.
Thank you Jackie. I saw these colors in a wall hanging at my doctors office and I really liked them. It’s funny how I look at colors and think of card color combos now. 🙂
These colors are so beautiful and elegant together. Both cards are amazing, although I am partial to the circles.you are such a talented artist. Your cards always stop me in my tracks!
Thank you Pam. I saw these colors together at my doctors office and made a note to myself to combine them in a card. I could never come up with the combo on my own, but I’m learning to pay attention to color combinations that strike me. There are SU color combos everywhere? 🙂
Love your colors ! Plus ,this is a great card that could be used for a lot of different wishes !
Loving this CIRCLE THEME !

Thanks Cindie! I found this combo in my doctors office wall hanging. 😉
Your work is lovely! Blue, brown and beige is one of my favorite color combinations so I thank you for the inspiration. I like each card but favor the second a bit more—a bigger flower to show off.
Thank you Marcia! I’m partial to flowers, and the bigger the better in my book too. I appreciate the feedback.
Adorable cards…love your color combo!
