Last week in my Facebook group (Elegant Sentiments today), I posted a video of the card I’m sharing today.
It’s National Watercolor Month, so I wanted to watercolor something along with all the other crafters and artists out there.
My water color project is just like everything I make e.a.s.y.
I used a piece of Very Vanilla card stock and made watercolor squiggles across the paper. That’s it! I had my water color background!

Even though I tend toward monochromatic themes, I love this color combination.
A Closer Look
Elegance Made Easy
Following are the quick steps to recreate this card.
First, make your cuts:
- Very Vanilla card stock – 4″ x 5 1/4″ (2 pieces, one for front and one for the interior ) 3 1/2″ X 4 1/2″ (for water coloring) 4 x 3 1/2″ for die cutting
- Die cuts:
- Use the second largest Scalloped Contours die to cut the water colored panel
- Use the Oval die in the Fabulous Frames to cut the shape floral stamp
Dry emboss one of the 4″ x 5 1/4″ using the Painted texture 3D embossing folder and add to the front of a card base made with Thick Very Vanilla card stock.
Add the die cut water colored panel to the front of the card using Foam Adhesive sheet cut to fit within the stitching of the die cut.
Stamp the flower from the Color & Contour stamp set in Pool Party ink onto the center of the die cut oval and glue both pieces of the oval to the front of the water colored panel.
Stamp the sentiment in Pool Party and die cut and trim to your liking.  I used a die from the Pretty Pillbox die set. Add the stamped sentiment beneath the oval.
For the inside, I stamped the sentiment and a flower in Pool Party ink.
Complete by adding a ribbon made with Pool Party Sheer ribbon, a Green Festive Pearl and stamping the envelope front and back.
