Story of Elegance
Hello and Happy Tuesday crafty friends!
There are so many things that I enjoy about Stampin’ Up! products. One of them is the lovely selection of Designer Series Paper (DSP.)
These papers are so pretty and it is easy to let them be the highlight of your project.
That’s exactly what I had in mind when I was thinking of what the focus for my projects would be this week.
One of my favorites is the Countryside Inn DSP. It’s funny to me that I’m so drawn to these papers because I’m not a blue person, and country isn’t my style. But look at how pretty these papers are!
What’s not to love?
Once I decided on the paper that I wanted to use, I added in the Wanted to Say dies, and the Nested Essentials dies and I was good to go.
There’s no stamping in this card, so it’s easy and elegant and great for any experience level.
Here’s the project I created:
Embossing folders are a great way to add texture, so I used the Countryside Blossoms embossing folder to beautiful texture to the card.
Elegance Made Easy
Following are the quick steps to recreate this card.
First, make your cuts:
- Basic White card stock – 4 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ and emboss with the Countryside Blossoms folder.
- Die cuts:
- Use the Nested Essentials dies to cut two shapes in DSP and one in Basic White card stock.
- Use the Wanted to Say dies to cut the sentimentment and flower bloom in Night of Navy card stock, flower stem in Boho Blue card stock, two flower stems in Night of Navy and two flower blooms in DSP.
- Punches:
- None
Add the embossed panel to the front of an A2 card base made with Thick Basic White card stock. (Note: An A2 card base is made by cutting an 8 1/2″ x 11″ piece of Thick card stock in half on the long side. Score the 5 1/2″ by 8 1/2″ (half sheet) of card stock at 4 1/4 “.)
Place the two DSP die cuts onto the card front.
Add the sentiment and Night of Navy bloom and Boho Blue stem flower to the Basic White die cut. Adhere to the card front using Dimensionals.
Finish with Iridescent Pearls.
For the inside, I printed my sentiment onto the Basic White card stock panel then added a die cut flower (Night of Navy stem and DSP bloom) for a coordinated accent.
To complete the project, add the last die cut flower to the card front and add DSP to the evelope flat to coordinate.
