Story of Elegance

Well, it has been a very long time since my last post and even though today isn’t a scheduled day for me to post, I wanted to come and say hello in preparation for getting back to a regular schedule.

I have been away since mid-August.  During my time away my beautiful mother has taken her rest.  There are not words enough to say how much I miss her and how my heart aches.  I can take comfort in knowing that she left on her own terms and she is rejoicing with Jesus.  For those of you who were aware and sent words of comfort, may God bless you richly for the love and care you have shown to me and my family during this tremendous loss.

Mom was my greatest cheerleader my entire life and she loved everyone unconditionally.  I can only hope to be half the woman she was.  I’m so thankful for wonderful memories and times we shared together.  One of the many things that we shared together was our love of card crafting, and while it will never be the same crafting with out her, I appreciate the warm memories that flood my mind everytime I’m in my craft room.

This week I have been able to spend time in my craft room and the card in the video below is one that I created.  For today’s card, which I created in August,  I used several products designed by Lisa Horton Crafts for the card I created including, A Festive Tapestry patterned paper, and several products from the Spellbinders Essential Holiday Collection by Lisa Horton: Nested Tree Frame die set, Holiday Backgroud Panels Betterpress Plates, and Festive Circle Sentiments Press Plate and Die set.  I also used Modern Floral Summer Shower 3D embossing folder for the background.

Here’s the card I made:

Elegance Made Easy

Here are the directions to create this A2 sized card.

Emboss a 4″ x 5 1/4″ panel of white card stock using the Modern Florals Summer Shower embossing folder and add to the front of an A2 card base.

Choose a piece of patterned paper from the Festive Tapestry patterned paper pack and die cut using the large die from the Nested Tree Frame die set.  Add to the card front with foam tape.

Hot foil the star panel from the Holiday Background Panel Press Plates onto white card stock using Satin Pewter foil.  Die cut the panel using a die from the Essential Nested Rectangle die set.

Using the Festive Circle Sentiments Better Press Plate and die set, hot foil and cut the sentiment using Satin Pewter foil.   Die cut a shadow for the sentiment using the selected patterned paper used for the frame.  Add here the foiled sentiment to the shadow die cut using foam squares.

Twist a couple of strands of metallic thread and add to the card front adhering on the back of the foiled panel and add to the frame on the card front.

Glue the sentiment onto the card front and add a bow made with metallic thread.  DMC G168 matches the Satin Pewter foil perfectly.

Thanks again for stopping by.

I will back again next Wednesday with another card to share.

Have a fantastic  weekend.

Until next time,

Live Graciously!
