Story of Elegance

Hello and Happy Tuesday!

Yes, I know that we’re in the middle of summer, but I’m fond of autumn, so I thought I would spend some time getting to know this set. 🙂

I actually used the Fond of Autumn bundle for today’s card.  Along with autumn, I’m also fond of savings.  Did you know that when you purchase a Stampin’ Up! bundle, you save 10% off the price of purchasing the items separately?  It’s true.  Bundle up and save.  Even in the middle of summer.

This bundle is quite nice and the dies are particularly so.  There is a large floral stamp in the stamp set and with the dies you can cut it as a single image or as four separate pieces.  How sweet is that?!

Here’s the card I created for you today.

Thank You card made with Stampin' Up! products

Fond of Autumn

I liked the little cut-out in the leaves of the die that cuts the image into four pieces, so I die cut the floral image and then put it back together before I adhered it to the card.

A Closer Look

Elegance Made Easy

Following are the quick steps to recreate this card.

First, make your cuts:

  • Early Expresso card stock  –   3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″
  • Very Vanilla card stock –  3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″  and  2 pcs 4″ x 5 1/4″ –  Emboss one using the Twigs and Sprigs embossing folder, the other for the inside
  • Die cuts:
    • Stamp the large floral using Early Expresso ink onto the Very Vanilla 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″ , color with a blending pen before cutting 4 piece sectioned die
    • Stamp the sentiment onto a scrap of Very Vanilla card stock using Early Expresso ink and cut using the banner die
  • Punch:
    • None

Adhere the embossed Very Vanilla panel to an A2 card base made with Thick Very Vanilla card stock.

Add a strip of Natural Finish Ribbon  horizontally across the Early Expresso panel and adhere to the center of the embossed panel.

Layer the die cut floral image to the ribboned panel using Dimensionals.  (I taped the pieces together on the back before I added Dimensionals.)

Glue the sentiment banner to the bottom portion of the Early Expresso panel.

Add Vanilla Elegant Faceted Gems to the card front and brush the flowers and berries with Clear Wink of Stella.

For the inside, I stamped a portion of the floral stamp onto the 4″ x 5 1/4″ panel of Very Vanilla card stock and colored with a Blender Pen.

To finish, stamp and color the envelope front and emboss the flap to match.
