Story of Elegance
Friday is here. Whoo Hoo! I’m celebrating all the cool gray weather we’ve had this week by crafting some sunshine.
I’ve played around with watercolor once before, but it’s been awhile, so I decided to play some today.
I used a stamped image from the Forever Blossoms stamp set to make things easy. I like easy! Here’s the card I crafted.
Using the paper when you are water coloring makes all the difference. That’s why I reached for our Fluid 100 Watercolor paper for the stamped image that I colored and cut.
Elegance Made Easy
To recreate this card, cut an 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Thick Basic White card stock and score at 4 1/4″, 5″, 5 5/8″ and 6 1/4″. Fold at 4 1/4″ to create the card base.
Cut a 3″ x 5″ piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper and stamp the floral image in Jet Black Stazon Ink.
Watercolor the flower using Magenta Madness, Polished Pink and Old Olive inks. Die cut the flower using Cherry Blossoms die and adhere to the card base, centering it over the scored lines.
Stamp the sentiment using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto the card front. I used one from the Elegantly Said stamp set.
Add a bow using white and pink twine.
I stamped the envelope flap and front to coordinate with card and the project is complete.
