Story of Elegance

Hello again and Happy Friday.  I hope that you have had a wonderful week.  My week has been grand, I’ve accomplished a lot and I’m definitely looking forward to the weekend.  Seeing the sun this week more days than not has been energizing and refreshing.  I’m almost encouraged to start planning for spring projects.  Almost.  ha! ha!  I’ve reminded myself to not get too carried away.

One thing I always have time for is card crafting.  It’s just the sweetest past time.  Today, I’m featuring the gorgeous Golden Garden Designer Specialty Acetate.  I took my cue from the gold in the acetate to come up with this color palate to coordinate with it.

As always, my hope is that today’s card will inspire you to order a few items and create your own special kindness to share.  You’ll be glad you did!

Here’s the card I made.

A Closer Look

I really like the soft shimmer of the gold leaves and flowers on the acetate.   And the sheen of the Pearlescent Specialty Paper complements the gold nicely.

Following are the steps I used to create this card:

1. Cut a 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ panel of  So Saffron card stock.

2. Cut a 4 x 5 1/4″ panel of Golden Garden Designer Specialty Acetate and the same size panel of Pearlescent Specialty Paper.  Adhere the acetate to the specialty paper with tiny bits of glue dots hidden behind the gold pattern in the acetate.  Add the combined panel to the So Saffron panel.

3.  Cut a 6″ piece of coordinating ribbon of your choice and adhere around the layered panel.  Adhere the panel to a card base made with Early Expresso card stock.

4.  Using dies from the Potted Succulents die set, cut sentiment panel is Early Expresso and So Saffron card stock.  Stamp the sentiment from the Simply Succulents stamp set using Early Expresso ink.  Glue the two pieces together and adhere the sentiment panel to the card with Stampin’ Dimensonals.

5.  Die cut a butterfly and adhere to the corner of the sentiment panel.

6.  Add  gold-toned rhinestones to the butterfly if desired.
