Story of Elegance
Welcome to InKing Royalty’s February Blog Hop! This is a great time of year to build your stash of handmade birthday cards, so we are sharing birthday-themed projects with you today. We are excited to share our creations and hope you love them! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
For today’s card, I wanted a soft and pretty look for a birthday for one of my dear friends. I’ve created several goals for myself with my cards this year. One is to get birthday cards mailed on time, and another is to use every single stamp set that I buy. I’ve actually made quite a few more, but that’s for another time.
I’m using this blog hop to move me along in one of the goals – I’m using a a stamp set that I haven’t used before. (I don’t think.) Hmmmm…. well as they say, the deed is done. 🙂 The Dahlia Days Bundle, Fresh Freesia and Soft Sage In Colors came together to become my soft and pretty card.
Here’s the card I made:
Elegance Made EasyÂ
Here’s how to recreate this card.
To start, cut a 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ piece of Soft Sage card stock and add it to a card base made with Thick Basic White card stock.
Stamp the sentiment panel onto the center of a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic White card stock and die cut the sentiment panel. Emboss the die cut panel using the Tasteful Textile embossing folder. Adhere the embossed panel to the Soft Sage panel and add the stamped sentiment panel back using Dimensionals. I used two layers of Dimensionals for a little extra height.
Next stamp five flowers in Fresh Freesia and four leaf groups in Soft Sage and die cut.  Add the die cut images to the card as shown.
Finish by adding Pearl Basic Jewels to your liking.
Of course, you have to dress up the envelope to match. Since I’m delivering this card in person, I decided to add a few pearls to the stamping on the envelope front and flap.
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop,

Soft and pretty is right. This is so sweet, Sheryl. Your friend will love it!
Thank you Candy!
Love your card. So pretty and elegant. Will try one for daughter. Thanks.
Thank you Claudia! I’m excited that my card inspired you. I’m sure your daughter will love your creation!
Oh My! This card is gorgeous! You do soft and pretty very well. I know your friend will love it!
Thank you Candy! I hope she likes it too. The big question is whether or not she’s gonna get it on time. haha
I love the soft colors together but especially the way you stepped up the envelope to match. Your friend will love it. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Lynn! Here’s hoping she’ll enjoy it.
Beautiful card! Such perfect colors. I share your goals too.
Thanks Marilyn. I’m trying on the goals. Last month wasn’t perfect, but it’s much better than it’s been. If I can at least keep trending towards the positive, I’ll be happy.
So soft and beautiful! I love these colors and the repeated images on the envelope – gives the recipient a peek at what’s to come. ♥
Thank you Brian!
Love the texture on this card and the colors are beautiful. You have a lucky friend!
Thank you Jan!
Sheryl, this is a very pretty and soft card for your friend’s birthday. She will be thrilled to receive it. Enjoy your day!
Thank you Hilda! I hope your day was pleasant and wishes for a terrific Thursday for you!
Sheryl, this is gorgeous. Love the colors and love your goals. I think I am going to steal the one about getting birthday cards in the mail on time. Thanks for sharing! Good luck.
Thank you Renae! I’m getting better day by day. January was decent but didn’t make my goal of 100% in the mail on time, but at least got them all mailed in January which is a feat in itself for me. Haha
Brilliant use of die-cut sentiment from the embossed panel.
Thank you Ann!
