Hello!
Happy Wednesday and welcome to my weekly blog post.
A Little Note Bursting with Summer Color

I love using the monthly color combinations from Lisa Horton Crafts. Each month I find myself using combinations of color that I would never think to put together and I’ve loved each one so far!
This vibrant note card combines the beautiful June Colour Combo of the Month from Lisa Horton Crafts—Sweet Treat, Tropical Paradise, and Summer Garden Interference Inks — to create a fresh, happy design that feels like sunshine in an envelope.
The soft blend of pink, yellow, and green creates a playful backdrop for the delicate floral image, while the easy eclipse technique I used adds depth and interest without requiring complicated steps. Layering the intricate die-cut panel over the stamped florals allows the colors and design to peek through in unexpected ways, creating a card that looks detailed yet comes together surprisingly easily.
Finished with a sweet sentiment and a few tiny hearts, this card is a wonderful reminder that a simple handmade note can make a big impact. Whether you’re sending encouragement, gratitude, or just a quick hello, bright colors and thoughtful craftsmanship are always in season.
Have you tried this easy eclipse technique yet? It’s a fun way to add dimension and showcase your favorite color combinations while keeping your card clean, fresh, and elegant.
Easy Instructions
Here are the steps to recreate this sweet card:
- Ink a 4″ x 5 1/4″ panel of white card stock with the Colour Combo inks.
- Use the largest die from Decorative Lattice Cutting Dies (part of the Summertime Collection by Lisa Horton Crafts for Spellbinders) to cut a rectangle from the center of the panel. Add the panel with the cutout to the front of an A2 cardbase made with white cardstock.
- Use a stamp positioner and your favorite black ink to stamp a large floral onto the inked die cut. I used the large floral stamp from the Floral Wishes Stamp Set by Lisa Horton Crafts. Keep the panel and stamp in position on the stamp positioner.
- Die cut the lattice using white cardstock and both dies in the Decorative Lattice Cutting Dies.
- Add the lattice die cut atop the stamped panel in the positioner and stamp the floral onto the lattice die cut.
- Glue the stamped pieces together and adhere to the card front into the cut out.
- Stamp the sentiment in black ink and die cut. I used a sentiment from the Floral Wishes Stamp Set and the smallest die from the Fundamentals Nested Circles die set. Adhere the sentiment to the card front with glue.
- To finish, use the heart dies from Floral Wishes die set to cut 3 hearts. Ink the hearts with the Colour Combo inks and add to the sentiment to embellish.
I hope you’ll take some time to craft yourself a little bit of color fun to share. Feel free to share your creations in the comments—I’d love to see your creativity in action.

Gorgeous! I love the lattice cover plate and how you used it! Your rainbow blended background is so pretty especially against the stamped black floral. I will definitely have to try this. Thank you for the beautiful inspiration!
