Story of Elegance
Hello and Happy Tuesday to all you crafty folks!
Guess what? I’m still crafting with the Layering Leaves bundle and the Designer Tags die set. I really enjoy using this group of products because there are so many options, creating is super easy! I’m all in for easy. How about you?
Here’s the card I created:
I’m always looking for a bargain, so I frequent nearby thrift shops regularly. I have often found some fabulous crafting products for pennies on the dollar. I have even found a few retired Stampin’ Up! stamp and die sets. This card uses one of my thrift store finds – a leaf embossing folder. I say it often, use what you have. New products, retired products, thrift store finds, whatever you have and love. Go for it!
You can achieve the same look with the Leaf Fall embossing folder that is an Online Exclusive right now. Just use it to emboss a piece of vellum as I did, and layer it onto a piece of card stock.
Elegance Made Easy
Following are the quick steps to recreate this card.
First, make your cuts:
- Mossy Meadow card stock – 4 1/8″ x 5 5/8″ and 1 1/8″ x 5 1/4″
- Vellum – 4″ x 5 1/4″ embossed with a leaf embossing folder
- Soft Sea Foam card stock – 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Hello Irrestible Designer Series Paper – 1″ x 5 1/4″
- Basic White card stock – 4″ x 5/14″
- Die cuts:
- Cut the sentiment panel using Mossy Meadow card stock and the tag die from the Designer Tags die set
- Punches
- Stamp 4 leaf sets in Mossy Meadow ink onto Basic White card stock and punch using the Bough punch
Add the Mossy Meadow panel to the front of an A2 card base made with Thick Basic White card stock. (Note: An A2 card base is made by cutting an 8 1/2″ x 11″ piece of Thick card stock in half on the long side. Score the 5 1/2″ by 8 1/2″ (half sheet) of card stock at 4 1/4 “.)
Adhere the embossed vellum onto the Soft Sea Foam panel and add to the card front.
Add the DSP strip onto the Mossy Meadow strip and add to the left side of the card front.
Arrange the 3 leaf sets around the sentiment tag that has been stamped with Whisper White ink. Add to the card front using Foam Adhesive.
Finish by adding a bow and Flat Backed Adhesive Pearls.
For the inside, I added a strip of Mossy Meadow card stock and the last punched leaf set to the side of the Basic White panel.
To complete the project, add DSP to the envelope flap to coordinate.
