Story of Elegance

Hello and Happy Tuesday!

It’s been gray and raining all day.  Rain isn’t always my favorite, but I’m happy to see it today.  My lawn is happy too!  After working for a few hours, I was happy to have some time to sit quietly and craft a little.

Today I decided to pull out the Quiet Meadow bundle and see what ideas came.  As I looked at the dies, I noticed that one of the die cuts matched a flower in one of the papers in our new Blackberry Beauty Designer Series Paper.  This new paper is absolutely gorgeous.  I love the rich tones and of course the gold foiling that can be found in many of the papers.

Here’s a closer look at the papers, but honestly, this image doesn’t come close to doing it justice.

I chose the paper in the upper right corner and here’s the card I made.

A Closer Look

I used a layer of Early Expresso die cut card stock behind the cuts to add dimension and give the illusion of a shadow.  Not sure it worked, but it’s what I’m sticking with. 🙂

Elegance Made Easy

To recreate this card,  cut a 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ piece of Pale Papaya card stock and adhere to a card base made of Thick Very Vanilla card stock.   Cut a piece of Blackberry Beauty DSP to 4″ x 4 1/4″ and layer onto the  card base.

Die cut the flower ( Pale Papaya) and fronds  (Very Vanillia) and also in Early Expresso. Adhere the die cuts together with Early Expresso in the back,  and then add to the card front.

Create the sentiment panel by die cutting the label and stamping with Early Expresso ink.  Layer die cut on top of Early Expresso, 1 1/4″ x 3 1/8″, Pale Papaya 1 1/8″ x 3 1/8″, DSP 1″ x 3″.  Add to the bottom of the card front using Dimensionals.

Finish the card by adding Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the flower center and sentiment panel.

You’ll be amazed at how quickly this card comes together.  I love that!
