Hello!
It’s Friday and that makes it a splendid day, so why not craft with the Splendid Thoughts Bundle right?
I knew you would agree, so I pulled it off the shelf and got to work.
I love this card because it so simple, yet elegant, which means I was able to craft it quickly.
Here’s what I created.
Splendid Thoughts – Much Love
I love 3D embossing and this technique is the star of this card. I used our Twigs & Sprigs embossing folder for the detailed background on this card. The twigs and sprigs seemed to go perfectly with the leaves from the Splendid Thoughts stamp set.
A Closer Look
I love the simplicity of a single stamp and stamping on the inside of the card is often a pleasant surprise to the card recipient.
Don’t forget the inside.
Elegance Made Easy
Following are the quick steps to recreate this card.
First, make your cuts:
- Basic White card stock – 4″ x 5 1’4″ emboss using the Twigs and Sprigs Hybrid embossing folder and (without the die)
- Old Olive card stock – 1 1/4″ x 3 1/2″ and 1 7/8″ x 1″ for sentiment
- Die cuts:
- Leaf from stamp set stamped in Old Olive ink
Layer an A2 card base made of Thick Basic White card stock with the Basic White embossed panel.
Add the die cut leaf to the larger Old Olive cut piece; then adhere vertically to the center of the card front.
Stamp the top of the sentiment onto a scrap of Basic White card stock and cut to 1 3/4″ x 1/2″ and add to the remaining piece of Old Olive card stock; then to the card front.
Complete by stamping the inside panel and the envelope front and flap with a leaf; then and a bow made with Old Olive twill ribbon.
