Story of Elegance

Happy Friday!  I’m still crafting away with the Prized Peony bundle and the color inspiration from Tuesday.

Prized Peony Bundle from Stampin' Up!

As promised on Tuesday, today I’m sharing how easy it is to create a beautiful 3D peony flower using the Peony die set.

Let’s take a look at how easy it is to make.

Peony dies from Stampin' Up!

Dies for 3D Peony Flower

These are the four dies that are used to make the body of the flower.  There is a separate die for the stamen that isn’t included in these illustrations.

These are the four die cut shapes.  Notice the  line cuts in each of the die cut shapes.  These are openings that allow you to layer the shapes together to create the flower.

Starting with the smallest die, I inserted one piece into the next largest piece to assemble.   The dies are made so that the bottom pieces align.  Here the pieces are inserted into each other to create two pieces.  The bottoms are aligned with each other.

How simple and easy is that!!!

I used this flower for today’s card.

The flowers in this stamp set are simply gorgeous.  I used two of them to create a background for this card.  I stamped Bumblebee peony flowers and Old Olive leaves onto a panel of Very Vanilla card stock.  The stamped panel is layered onto Bumblebee card stock.  I die cut the stamen for peony center in Bumblebee card stock as well.

I used the Layering Circles die set to create the sentiment panel.  The embellishments of Bumblebee In Color ribbon and the clear gems from the Elegant Faceted Gems pack.

Here’s a closer look at the card and the coordinating envelope.
