Story of Elegance
Welcome to this beautiful Tuesday morning! I’m so happy today. The sun is shining. I was able to spend the first part of my morning in solitude with coffee on my deck with only the sound of the birds chirping. Then I came indoors to play in my craft room. My idea of an absolutely glorious morning!
Today, I’m still playing with some of the products in the new Peony Garden Suite . Last week I told you that I loved this Suite and I without a doubt, I do!! I’ve focused on the Prized Peony bundle (stamp and die set) that is part of the suite. Just for good measure, I’ve added one more of our new product items too. But trust me, if you don’t have any of the extra products that I do, you’ll still get hours of crafting fun with just the items in this Suite.
One of the many things I love about Stampin’ Up! products is their versatility. I craft for days with just the products in the Suite or I can pair them with other products that I have to create even more variety. I wanted to showcase another of the new 2020-2022 In Colors today along with a new embossing folder so that’s exactly what I did. Here is my color inspiration for today.
I’m planning to send a little sunshine to a few of my friends this week and this is the card they’ll get. Look at the layers and dimension in this peony. You certainly won’t believe how easy it is to make. Be sure to stop back on Friday for details on how to make this flower.
So for the background on this beauty, I embossed Bumblebee card stock with our new Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder. I used Very Vanilla card stock to cut and assemble the flower using the Peony dies. The flower center is cut from those dies as well in Bumblebee.
The sentiment was stamped Bumblebee ink and I used the Pretty Label punch mimic the scalloped pattern of the border die. For accents I used Gold Metallic Edge ribbon and Champagne Faceted gems.
Speaking of versatility – Although it would appear that I used two different colors of card stock to create the leaves for the flowers. I didn’t. I simply colored the Old Olive card stock with Dark Old Olive Stampin’ Blends marker to create a deeper hue.
Here’s a closer look at the flower.
I think the layers, texture and dimension is remarkable!
In the image below, I used a coordinating stamp to decorate the Very Vanilla envelope on the front and flap. I love that the flower image on the envelope mimics the flower on the card. I like to do this to give the recipient a glimpse of the treat that awaits inside! Such fun!

Sheryl, this card is stunning. I love the use of yellow and vanilla instead of the traditional Pink. So pretty. The texture on the background really sets it all off. So many elements working beautifully together.
