Happy day after MLK Day – a day that probably feels like a Monday for many!
I hope that you had a safe and fun weekend. I spent a lot of my weekend preparing for next month’s stamp club meeting, but I of course got in a little time to increase my personal card stash.
At the beginning of the year I like to start on refreshing my stash, so I crafted this simple card for an upcoming birthday.
I used a few bits of the gorgeous new Symbols of Fortune DSP and my favorite embossing folder Tasteful Textile 3D to create a lovely card.
Here is the card I created.

Whenever I see beautiful Designers Series Paper with metallic foiling I’m going to buy it. So when I saw the Symbols of Fortune DSP it went straight into my shopping cart.
I decided to heat emboss the sentiment in gold and layer the sentiment panel in gold foil to accent the gold foiling in the DSP.

Here’s how to recreate this card.
To start, cut a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic White card stock and emboss it using the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder. Then add it to a card base made with Thick Basic White card stock.
Next, create the background for the sentiment by layering 1 7/8″ x 4 Gold Foil, 1 3/4″ x 3 7/8″ Basic White card stock and 1 5/8″ x 3 3/4″ piece of Symbols of Fortune DSP onto the center of the embossed panel.
For the sentiment, stamp the birthday sentiment in Versa Mark and heat emboss with Gold Metallic embossing powder onto a piece of Basic White card stock. Die cut the embossed sentiment using the oval like shape from the Beautiful Shapes die set.
Finish by adding the die cut to the background layers with Dimensionals, and you’re done!
