Story of Elegance
I don’t know what the weather may be like where you are today, but here in central Ohio it’s a very chilly day. More of a winter day than a fall day. But like most days here, if you don’t like what’s going on, all you have to do is wait a day and it will change. Ha! Ha! These cold days are great days because they’re perfect for crafting and I have a wonderful excuse for not completing errands.
Today I took a cue from the weather and pulled out the First Frost stamp set and Frosted Bouquet dies. Even though today isn’t our first frost, it still seems appropriate. I added the beautiful Noble Peacock designer series paper, Noble Peacock foil sheets, Hand lettered Prose die set, and the Gleaming Ornaments punch and I was off to the races.
I love cards that are simple in design, easy to create and with a touch of beautiful shine. The Noble Peacock designer series paper is perfect – The colors are rich and vibrant and have just the right hint of shine. They’re gorgeous!
It is so easy using punches to create cards. They really do help make quick work of making a card. I used the three different papers in the Noble Peacock designers series paper to punch the three bulbs using the larger bulb in the Gleaming Ornaments punch set. I stamped the tree limbs and the sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink and tied small bows on the bulbs with linen thread.
This card is all about cutting. First I cut a panel of the Noble Peacock designer series paper and adhered it to a Thick Whisper White card stock base. Then I die cut three ovals using the Layering Ovals die set. After adding the ovals to the panels I topped them with three bulbs that were punched from Noble Peacock designer series paper and foil sheets. The letters were cut using Hand Lettered Prose die set and Whisper White card stock. The final addition was the 3 rhinestone gems on the center bulb.
This card is super simple to make. Love that! A panel of Noble Peacock designer series paper layered a panel of Whisper White card stock, a strip of DSP, stamped tree limbs and a paneled sentiment cut with Frosted Bouquet die set and stamped using Night of Navy ink. Done.
Simple is the word of the day for this beauty made from leftover pieces I had on hand. I added a die cut reindeer from the Detailed Deer dies, and a sentiment that I had punched for another project but never used. Even your scraps can be used to create a little kindness!
