Story of Elegance
We all have something that we are passionate about. Passions are real and natural. If you are fortunate you have many things you’re passion about. It may be a cause, a season, food, an organization or a hobby, But if you are particularly fortunate you have many people that you are passionate about. I am particularly fortunate as I have many people that I’m passionate about. My birth family, my chosen family, my church family, my friends and my former co-workers – these are all people that I’m passionate about. I love them all!
Recently, a former co-worker asked if I had cards in her Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority colors with roses. I didn’t but told her that I’d create a couple of cards for her to see and share with her sorority sisters. It was so wonderful crafting these cards today because to fulfill this commitment, I got to engage multiple passions! Fantastic!
Here are the cards that I created today and happily share with you. Doncella, I hope that you like them! And to my BFF, Audrey – love you! I had you in mind as I worked.
This hand-crafted, hand-colored card was simple to make. A Whisper White card stock panel on panels of Blushing Bride and Granny apple Green card stock formed the base of the card. I used a retired stamp set Climbing Roses to stamp the roses in Granny Apple Green ink onto the white panel. The roses were colored with Blushing Bride and Petal Pink markers, and three pink pearls finish off this cute little card.
I think this card is a great example of how you can combine products that you have on hand with Stampin’ Up! products to create something special. Like the first card, I layered the same colors of card stock. This time I stamped three trees from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set in Blushing Bride ink. The sentiment is stamped using the Merry Christmas sentiment from the same set and mounted on a label that was die cut from the retired Rose Trellis die set. I completed the look using products that I had on hand (ribbon and green crystal embellishments). All the products come together beautifully for this AKA inspired holiday card.
A reminder: Our Christmastime is Here suite is only available until the end of this month. You’ll want to take advantage of this gorgeous versatile bundle, Although it is on sale for Christmas, simply by changing colors and sentiments you can craft cards for many occasions!
