Story of Elegance
Hello – Happy Friday and Happy Cinco De Mayo to you!
If you have been following my blog, you can easily tell that I am a floral lover. Today however, I’m using the new Beautiful Balloons bundle, and let me tell you, I. LOVE. THIS. BUNDLE!
There is so much you can do with this bundle, and I can’t wait to showcase all that it has to offer. But for today, I’ll share a simple card and rotate this bundle throughout future posts. There are so many fantastic products in the new 2023-2024 Annual catalog and I can’t wait to play and share.
Here’s the card I made:
There is lots of texture on this beauty and it features our new Lost Lagoon color.
A Closer Look
Elegance Made Easy
Following are the quick steps to recreate this card.
First, make your cuts:
- Basic White card stock – 4″ x 5 1/4″ and 3″ x 4/14″
- Gold Celebrations Specialty DSP – 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Lost Lagoon card stock – 3″ x 4/14″
- Die cuts:
- Stamp the large balloon from the stamp set in Lost Lagoon ink onto a scrap piece of Basic White card, then add the ballon spatter to the stamped image using Versa Mark and heat emboss using Gold embossing powder. Use the large balloon die to cut the stamped image
- Repeat the same for the sentiment, using the star die to make the cut without embossing
- Punches:
- None
Add the Specialty DSP to the smaller Basic White card stock panel using Glue Dots added to the center area only, then add to the front of an A2 card base made with Thick Basic White card stock. Note: An A2 card base is made by scoring a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of card stock scored and folded at 4 1/4″.
Angle the Lost Lagoon card stock panel an add to the card front.
Stamp the smaller Basic White panel using the spatter and scrolly images from the stamp set using VersaMark ink and heat emboss in Gold embossing powder. Add the completed panel angled in the opposite direction of the Lost Lagoon panel.
Place the die cut balloon to the card front using Dimensionals.
Adhere a bow and 3 lengths of Gold Simply Elegant Trim to the base of the baloon.
Use the Lost Lagoon marker to outline the star die cut and add to the card front.
Add Gold Festive Pearls as desired.
For the inside, I stamped the balloon in Lost Lagoon ink and heat embossed the spatter in gold. I used gold thread to make a bow for the balloon.
To complete the project, stamp and heat emboss the scrolly stamp onto the envelope front and flap to coordinate.
