Story of Elegance

Hello and welcome!

As always, I appreciate you so much for stopping by to take a look at my cards.

Both of the cards that I’ll be sharing this week are ones that I created for a recent card challenge hosted by my upline team leader, Brian King.

I have met dozens of  wonderful men and women during my Stampin’  Up! journey.  It is such a blessing to share the love of paper crafting with so many creative and talented people.  I particularly enjoy how freely they give and share information, tips and tricks.  I have learned so much from them.

If you enjoy paper crafting, you should consider joining my team.  Whether you want to earn money to support your craft, or simply enjoy the fabulous community, perks and discounts that being a demonstrator brings, I promise you becoming a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator is one fantastic decision that you won’t regret!

Today’s card is one that I made using the Botanical Layers stamp set and Lovely Layers Vellum.  It’s a very simple card because the vellum does all the work.

A Botanical Layers Thank You

The Lovely Layers Vellum pack contains 60 sheets of  3- 3/4″ x 5″ vellum.  40 sheets are  plain and there are 5 sheets each of 4  different printed designs – (20 sheets.)

A Closer Look

I used Basic Gray ink to stamp the leaves inside the card to match the vellum.

Elegance Made Easy

Following are the quick steps to recreate this card.

First, make your cuts:

  • Basic White card stock – 4″ x 5 1/4″ and 3 1/2″ x 4- 3/4″
  • Basic Gray card stock- 3 3/4″ x 5″
  • Lovely Layers Vellum – trim to 3 1/2″ x  4 3/4″

Next, complete the stamping:

  • Using Basic Gray Ink, stamp the sentiment onto the center of the vellum and heat emboss with Clear Embossing Powder.

Add the completed panels and sentiment to an A2 card base made with Thick Basic White card stock.  Note:  When assembling the panels, use glue dots to adhere the printed vellum to the Basic White card stock panel.  Place the dots behind the darker leaves to camouflage them.

Finish by stamping the envelope front and flap and add Gray Pastel Pearls as desired.
