Story of Elegance
Happy Tuesday!
I am love- love-loving the gorgeous weather we are having in central Ohio this week. Warm and sunny – my favorite!
It’s also new Annual catalog time, so I’m loving that too. I tried to control myself and only order a few products rather than my entire wish list in a single sitting. I was moderately successful. Hey, It’s my story and I’m sticking to it. 😉 🙂
My order of new products arrived last week and I have all “my stuff ” opened and shelved. For this week, I’m playing with the new Cottage Rose bundle. I needed a few get well cards and the mixed font sentiment and the beautiful flowers were perfect for my needs.
Here is the card I made:

Cottage Rose Get Well #1
I added a strip of Designer Series Paper from the Abigail Rose collection for a wee bit of color. I really like tone-on-tone color, so the die cuts in the same color as the card stock works for me.

A Closer Look
Elegance Made Easy
Like most of my creations, this card comes together quickly.
First, make your cuts:
- Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper – 1″ x 5 1/4″, 1/2″ x 5 1/4 ” (for inside) and 2 1/4″ x 6″ ( for envelope)
- Very Vanilla card stock – 2 pcs 4″ x 5 1/4″ (one is for the inside)
- Cottage Flowers die set – 3 pcs of the double flower ( I recommend using adhesive sheets to the back of the paper before die cutting to make it easier and less messy when adding the die cuts to the card.)
Next, complete the stamping. On one of the Very Vanilla panels, stamp the sentiment from the Cottage Rose stamp set in Crumb Cake ink.
Add the 1 ” Abigail Rose DSP strip to the let side of the stamped panel, then add the panel to an A2 card base made with Thick Very Vanilla card stock. Then add the die cut flowers to the card.
Use gold thread to create three bows and add them to the stem of the die cut flowers.
Add Gold Metallic Pearls (if you have them) or Brushed Brass Butterflies (current) randomly.
Complete the inside of your card. I used a printer to print my greeting onto the second Very Vanilla panel and added the 1/2″ strip of Abigail Rose DSP to it before adding it to the card.

A Peek Inside
Finally, add the coordinating DSP to the envelope flap, and you’re done!
