Story of Elegance
Well, the weather this week did not disappoint! Warm and sunny all week long. Yippee! Let’s see what the weekend brings. I’m hoping for a little time outside – a little garden clean up and a lot of time sitting on my deck, reading and watching birds at my feeders.
As I shared earlier this week, today I’m sharing a second card that I made using the lovely new Cottage Rose bundle. This is such a pretty bundle and I know I’ll be using it a lot in the coming months.
If you haven’t had a chance to look at the new catalog yet, here’s the bundle.
When I saw the big rose, I knew I would be using it for my card. It’s so pretty!
I used some of the colors in the Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper collection for my card. I think they’re very pretty together too and perfect for my rose.
Here is the card I made:
I used the new Elegant Eucalyptus 3D embossing folder to add texture to the card.
Elegance Made Easy
This sweet card is easy to re-create.
First, make your cuts:
- Early Expresso card stock – 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″
- Petal Pink card stock – 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Very Vanilla card stock – 4 1/8″ x 3″
Next, complete the stamping. On the Very Vanilla panels, stamp the large rose (in Crumb Cake) and the sentiment (in Early Expresso) from the Cottage Rose stamp set.
Color the rose by using a sponge dauber and Petal Pink and Old Olive inks to lightly add a blush of color.
Emboss the Petal Pink panel using the Elegant Eucalyptus 3D embossing folder.
Assemble the card by layering the embossed panel onto the Early Expresso panel; the stamped panel onto the embossed panel, and then to an A2 card base made with Thick Very Vanilla card stock. I happened to have Antique Rose Nuvo drops so I added them to the rose center and the fronds to add extra texture. These drops are not a Stampin’ Up! product.
Finally, stamp the envelope flap and front to your liking, and you’re done!
