Story of Elegance

Happy Friday!

Thank you for stopping by.

Occasionally, I need a card for a male.  I decided I would make a few cards to add to my stash for that purpose.

You can never go wrong with a Black and White card, so I paired those colors with the Filled with Happiness Stamp set by Stampin’ Up! for today’s card.

Here’s what I created:

The detail in the black ovals don’t really show in the front facing image.  I simply embossed them and added them to the card front with the de-bossed side showing.

Elegance Made Easy

Following are the quick steps to recreate this card.

First, make your cuts:

  • Basic Black card stock 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″
  • Basic White card stock –  4″ x 5 1/4″ (two pieces)
  • Dies
    • None
  • Punches
    • Use Basic Black card stock to punch two ovals using the Modern Oval Punch.  Emboss the punched ovals using the Basics 3D embossing folder.
    • Stamp the oval image on a scrap of Basic Black card stock and heat emboss with White embossing powder.  Punch the image using the Modern Oval punch.

Add the Basic Black panel to the front of an A2 card base made with Thick White Basic White card stock.  (Note: An A2 card base is made by cutting an 8 1/2″ x 11″  piece of Thick card stock in half on the long side.  Score the 5 1/2″ by 8 1/2″  (half sheet) of card stock at 4 1/4 “.)

Emboss one of the Basic White panels and add to the card front.

Add the two black embossed ovals to the card front.

Cut and emboss a 1/4″ x 4” strip of Basic White card stock and center across the ovals.

Add the heat embossed image between the two dry embossed ovals using Dimensionals.

For the inside of the card,  cut and emboss two strips of card stock and add to the bottom of the second Basic White panel.

Complete the project by embossing the envelope  flap to match.
