Story of Elegance
Good morning and happy Tuesday! It’s been far too long and I’m happy to be back in my craft room. I’m particularly excited today because the new 2020/2021 Annual Catalog has launched and it is loaded with lots of wonderful new products! If you haven’t taken the time to view the new catalog – you simply must put it on your to-do list this week. You will not be disappointed. I promise!
If you’ve followed me for any length of time, you know two things about my cards. Flowers are my favorites and I love simple, easy and elegant design. Oh boy, does our new catalog deliver! So many options!!!! Today I’m crafting with our new Flowering Blooms bundle (stamp set and coordinating dies) and the new Borders Abound stamp set. Of course, I had to feature one of our new In Colors for 2020/2022 – Cinnamon Cider. It’s is quickly becoming one of my favorite colors, but to be truthful, that’s an honor without distinction because I love, love, love ALL the new colors. Ha! Ha!
Look at the gorgeous detail in these stamps! I love that! With this much detail, additional coloring is optional. (Great for me because I’m still working on those coloring skills.)
After I created the sentiment panel, I knew that I wanted texture to surround it, so I reached for our new Old World Paper 3D embossing folder. I think it worked beautifully to add texture to the Cinnamon Cider card stock.
The Flowering dies that coordinate with the Flowering Blooms stamp set made quick work of creating the beautiful flower that is the focus of the card. Here’s the list of all the products I used for this card and coordinating envelope
Products:
- Stamp sets: Flowering Blooms (flower and sentiment) and Borders Abound (floral trellis)
- Card Stock: Thick Very Vanilla – Very Vanilla -Cinnamon Cider
- Embossing Folder: Old World Paper
- Ink: Cinnamon Cider
- Embellishments: Cinnamon Cider In Color Ribbon and Elegant Faceted Gems
- Envelope: Very Vanilla medium
I was having so much fun with the card, I just had to make another! The second card is exactly like the first, but I wanted to change the background panel. This time I decided to use our beautiful new In Color designer series paper. What a great choice that turned out to be. With just a few snips of the 6×6 paper, I had a lovely textured backdrop for my sentiment panel. It just doesn’t get any easier.

I like your take on this flower Sheryl. So pretty in Cinnamon Cider. I never would have reached for that. Great thinking outside the box. The border stamp is perfect there.
Thank you Lynn. I love the new In Colors. I just had to try it with this flower. I like how it turned out.
