Story of Elegance

Hello and Happy Thursday!

I’ll be playing with my new products in the January-April 2023 Mini Catalog for a few more posts.  I really like so many of them.  Today’s product that I’m featuring is the Fragrant Flowers bundle.  The bundle is comprised of the stamp set and coordinating dies of the same name.

There are only 7 stamps in this set, but boy are they fantastic.

Like most of my creations, today’s card is really easy to make but doesn’t look like it.

Here’s the card I made:

Fragrant Flowers – Hello Friend

I really like texture and a little bling on my cards, so I pulled from items in my stash to make this card.  The embossing is done with some retired embossing folders,  Tasteful Textile and Delicate Designs.  I use my retired products because just like current line products, our products coordinate well together.  If you don’t have these, no worries.  There are several current line embossing folders products you can use to achieve a similar look.  Let your creativity be your guide!

A Closer LookI wanted a little something on the inside of my notecard, so I stamped a coordinating flower inside too.

Elegance Made Easy

Following are the quick steps to recreate this card.

First, make your cuts:

  • Basic White card stock – 4 1/4″ x 5 3/8″ emboss with desired folder.  I used Tasteful Textile.
  • Basic White card stock – 3 1/2″ x 3 12/”  partial emboss with desire folder leaving a 1/2″ space on the side.  I used Delicate Designs.
  • Die cuts:
    • Small flower that has been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink

Add the embossed panel to an A2 card base made with Thick Basic White card stock.  Note:  An A2 card base is made by scoring an 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of card stock scored and folded at 5 1/4″.

Use a small blending brush to add Soft Succulent ink to the embossed portion of the sentiment square.

Place 3 line stickers (available on Amazon) to the side of the embossing in the 1/2″ space.  If you don’t have stickers you can use 3 very thin strips of Soft Succulent card stock brushed with clear Wink of Stella.

Stamp the sentiment using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Add the flower to the sentiment panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals and add the sentiment panel to the card front using a Foam Adhesive sheet cut to fit (3 1/4″ square.)

Add Soft Succulent gems from the 2021-2023 In Color Opal Rounds.

To complete the project, stamp the flower on the envelope front and flap using Tuxedo Black Memento Black Ink.
