Story of Elegance

Happy  Tuesday Everyone!

Welcome to another fun week.

On Monday when I was working on today’s card, it was cold and snowy so I decided to keep crafting with Magnolia Mood in the hopes that it would take my mind of the yuckiness outside.  It worked!

This Online Exclusive is so gorgeous,  and I’m sure I’ll get my money’s worth.  I’ll be using it a lot.

Again today, I’m using the Magnolia Mood bundle – stamp set and coordinating dies.

Here’s today’s creation:

The ribbons, die cuts and embossed vellum add a ton of texture to this beauty.

Elegance Made Easy

Following are the quick steps to recreate this card.

First, make your cuts:

  • Crumb Cake  card stock – 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
  • Vellum  card stock –  4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
  • Die cuts:
    • Stamp the large floral pod twice onto a large scrap of Basic White card stock using  Crumb Cake ink and the smallest magnolia using Bubble Bath ink and die cut the stamped images using the respective dies.
    • Use the Basic White card stock to die cut large floral floral die and leaf die.  Trim away the flower and keep the leaves from the large floral die.
  • Punches
    • None

Layer the Crumb Cake panel onto the front of an A2 card base made with Thick White Basic White card stock.  (Note: An A2 card base is made by cutting an 8 1/2″ x 11″  piece of Thick card stock in half on the long side.  Score the 5 1/2″ by 8 1/2″  (half sheet) of card stock at 4 1/4 “.)

Use the Metal Plate 3D embossing folder to emboss one of the Vellum panel.

Add a strip of Natural Polka Dot Trim ribbon across the vellum panel and adhere to the card front.

Arrange the die cut flowers and leaves and adhere to the card front.  Use Dimensionals to add the small  magnolia for additional depth.

Place desired sentiment to the card front.  I used a foiled sentiment. (Not Stampin’ Up!)

Add a bow to the base of the small magnolia flower aand gold Festive pearls around the floral arrangement.

Complete the project by stamping a flower pod on the envelope front and flap.
