Story of Elegance

Happy Friday Everyone!

I hope that your week has been a good one.

As I shared earlier this week today’s card is is being made with one of the new online excluse products from Stampin’ Up!  It’s called Magnolia Mood and I used the bundle (stamp set and coordinating die set.)

It’s super easy to create a lovely and elegant card with these products.  The images in the stamp set are fabulous and the detail is very nice.

Here’s a simple card, that looks like you spent  a lot of time to create when it only took minutes.

Adding the stamped and die cut images to a textured background with Dimensionals adds texture and dimension.

Elegance Made Easy

Following are the quick steps to recreate this card.

First, make your cuts:

  • Lost Lagoon card stock – 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″
  • Basic White card stock – 4″ x 5 1/4″  (2 pieces)
  • Die cuts:
    • Stamp the large floral image onto a large scrap of Basic White card stock using  Early Expresso ink and the Pods in Fresh Freesia and die cut using the respective dies.  Die cut the leaves using Lost Lagood card stock. (Note: If your Early Expresso ink pad is fresh and juicy, you may want to stamp off one.  My ink pad was on the dry side giving me a soft brown look.)
  • Punches
    • None

Layer the Lost Lagoon panel onto the front of an A2 card base made with Thick White Basic White card stock.  (Note: An A2 card base is made by cutting an 8 1/2″ x 11″  piece of Thick card stock in half on the long side.  Score the 5 1/2″ by 8 1/2″  (half sheet) of card stock at 4 1/4 “.)

Use the Cane Weave 3D embossing folder to emboss one of the Basic White panels and add to the card front.

Adhere the die cut flowers and leaves to the card front.  Use Dimensionals to add the large magnolia for additional depth.

Stamp the sentiment onto a scrap of Basic White ink and  fussy cut twice.  Split the two sentiments and stack to create dimension.

Add the die cut sentiment to the card front.

Next, add Blooming Pearls around the die cut florals and leaves.

Complete the project by stamping a flower on the envelope front and flap.
