Story of Elegance

Welcome!  I’m glad you’re here!

I can’t believe that the middle of August is already here.  My goodness – what happened to summer?

My grandchildren started school this week.  It seems they just began their summer vacation.

The start of school has me looking towards fall, so I pulled out the Nature’s Print bundle.  As happens in most cases, the ideas I had in my head when I reached for the set, in no way resemble the card I actually created. 🙂

Here is the finished card:

Friendship card made with Stampin' Up! products

Nature’s Prints Gratitude

I wanted some subtle texture for the background, so I used one of my favorite embossing folders, the (retired) Tasteful Textiles 3D.

A Closer Look

Elegance Made Easy

Following are the quick steps to recreate this card.

First, make your cuts:

  • Gold Foil  – 4 1/8″  x 5 3/8″
  • Very Vanilla card stock – 4″ x 5 1/4″ embossed using Tasteful Textiles 3D embossing folder
  • Die cuts:
    • With Evening Evergreen and Crumb Cake card stock, cut two leaves in each that has been stamped in Soft Suede ink (on Crumb Cake) and Evening Evergreen (on Evening Evergreen) ink using the leaf die in the Natural Prints die set.
    • Using Evening Evergreen card stock, heat emboss the sentiment in Gold and cut using the Sentiment Silhouette dies. ( The dies are part of the Charming Sentiments bundle.)
    • Using Very Vanilla card stock, stamp two flowers, one each in Evening Evergreen  and Soft Suede ink and die cut using the Natural Prints dies.
  • Punch:
    • None

Adhere the Gold Foil pane to an A2 card base ( 5 1/2″ x  8 1/2″ scored on the long side at 4 1/4″) made with Thick Very Vanilla card stock.

Layer the Very Vanilla embossed panel onto the the card.

Glue one each of the die cuts together and add to the card front.

Add the sentiment between the leaves using Dimensionals.

Add two bows and  and Gold Festive Pearls.

For the inside, I stamped a flower to coordinate with the card front.

To finish, stamp a rose on the envelope flap and front using Evening Evergreen ink.
