Story of Elegance

Hello and Happy Tuesday!

Sometimes when ideas don’t come quickly, I will browse our Annual Catalog.  Just looking at all the beautiful card samples always sparks my own creativity.  When I saw a card with a Flirty Flamingo pansy, it was the spark I needed.

Here’s the card I looked at – it’s on Page 15 of the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog.

And here’s what I created:

Friendship card made with Stampin' Up! products

Pansy Patch BundleI couldn’t decide what color I wanted to pair with it, but when I looked a second time at the catalog, the answer was right there.  Pool Party!

Elegance Made Easy

Following are the quick steps to recreate this card.

First, make your cuts:

  • Pool Party card stock – 4″ x 5 1/4″ embossed using Pretty Flowers embossing folder
  • Basic White card stock – 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ embossed using Pretty Flowers embossing folder
  • Die cuts:
    • With Basic White card stock, cut two base leaves and with Pool Party card stock cut two accent leaves  using dies from the Pansy die set.
    • Using a circle die from the Stylish Shapes die set cut a circle in Basic White.
    • Stamp a pansy onto Basic White card stock and cut using the Pansy die.
  • Punch:
    • None

Adhere the Pool Party panel to an A2 card base ( 5 1/2″ x  8 1/2″ scored on the long side at 4 1/4″) made with Thick Basic White card stock.

Wrap a piece of Pool Party Striped Grosgrain ribbon (retired) on the left side of the Basic White embossed panel and add to the card front.   If you happen not to have this ribbon, you can use Pool Party Sheer ribbon instead.

Glue the die cut leaves together and then to the back of the die cut pansy.

Add the assembled flower to the the die cut circle using dimensionals and add the circle to the card front.

Stamp the sentiment in Pool Party ink onto a scrap of Basic White card stock and cut to 1 1/2″ x 1/2″ , then and add to card front.

Complete the front by adding a few Silver Festive Pearls.

For the inside, I stamped a flower to coordinate with the card front.

To finish, emboss the envelope flap and stamp the front with a flower.
