Story of Elegance

I’m so happy to welcome Friday!

It’s been a crazy weather week here in Central Ohio and I’m hoping for lots of calm and cooler weather this weekend.

My card today features the new Painted Posies embossing folder.  This beauty is a “sleeper” as it is could easily be overlooked on page 111 of our current Annual Catalog.

I’m delighted that I noticed it, and ordered it.  Here’s the card I created.

Painted Posies Friendship

I used the beautiful Mother of Pearl Specialty Paper that will be leaving the line at the end of the month.  I like that this paper add lovely shimmer without overpowering.  This pretty paper is part of our Last Chance sale.  You can pick it up for $4.20 while supplies last.

A Closer Look

Elegance Made Easy

Following are the quick steps to recreate this card.

First, make your cuts:

  • Basic Black card stock – 4 1/8″  x 5 3/8″
  • Petal Pink card stock – 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Mother of Pearl Specialty Paper –  3 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ embossed with Painted Posies
  • Die cuts:
    • Scalloped Rectangle in the mini pocket envelope in Basic Black card stock

Next, complete the stamping:

Stamp the sentiment in Versa Mark and heat emboss in White embossing powder a piece of Basic Black card stock.  Die cut the embossed sentiment as noted above.

Layer an A2 card base made with Thick Basic White card stock with card stock and embossed panels as shown.

Add Petal Pink Soft Polyester ribbon to the back of the die cut sentiment and add to the card with Dimensionals.

Finish by adding Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels to the card front and embossing the envelope flap.
