Story of Elegance

Happy Tuesday and welcome to a new month!  I love it because it means we are that much closer to Spring.  Woohoo!

It doesn’t matter the season, flowers are always my favorite stamping choice.  Last week, I shared a card I made with the Ranunculus Romance stamp set.  I almost put it back on the shelf, but before I did, I decided to make a few more cards with it.  I will be sharing two of them with you this week.

This time I used a color that I rarely think about – Calypso Coral.  It’s really a pretty color and I will try to use it more often.  I thought about this color when I was looking through the beautiful Symbols of Fortune Designer Series Paper (DSP.)   There is a lovely paper featuring the color, so I incorporated it into today’s card.

Here it is:

Ranunculus Romance Happy Birthday

I really like the look of tone on tone stamping, even though I don’t often use it.

Here’s a closer look.

A Closer Look

Elegance Made Easy

Here’s how to recreate this card.

To start, cut a 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ piece of Symbols of Fortune DSP and add it to a card base made with Thick Basic White card stock.

Next, cut a 3 3/8″ x 4 5/8″  piece of Silver Foil card stock and top it with a 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″ piece of Calypso Coral card stamps that has been stamped in the same color ink using the larger floral stamp from Ranunculus Romance.

Use the Layering Circle die set to cut a scallop 2 3/4″ scalloped circle in Calypso Coral card stock and a 2 5/8″ circle in Basic White card stock.  Stamp the flower in Calypso Coral ink onto the Basic White circle.  Adhere the circle to the scalloped circle and then add to the card.

Stamp the sentiment of your choice onto a scrap piece of Basic White card stock trimmed to 1 /2″ x 2 1/2″ and add to the card beneath the floral circle.  I used a sentiment from the Calming Camelia stamp set.  To finish add a bow to the base of the flower on the circle.
