Story of Elegance

Hello! Happy Tuesday!

I’m glad you decided to stop by today.  As you probably know from earlier posts, I really like the Shaded Summer stamp set.

I’m even more excited about this stamp set because  Stampin’ Up! has outdone themselves with the August 3 – September 30 2021 SALE-a-bration.  During this period, lots of fantastic products for FREE, but what I’m most exited about is the Summer Shadows die set that coordinates with the Shaded Summer stamp set. Yay!   You’ll be able to earn this coordinating die set, FREE with a $100 purchase.

My card today uses one the dies from this set, along with one of the new Designer Series Papers, Beautifully Penned, which coordinates with the Hand Penned Petals bundle.  This paper group as well, is only available through SALE-a-bration.  Today is just a teenie weenie peak at a portion of these two new products, so I’m  saying it’s a twist.

Here’s the card I’m sharing today.

Look at this pretty black and white DSP.  The flowers are perfect for coloring, so that’s exactly what I did!

Here’s a closer look – there’s lots of texture here. I decided to heat emboss the sentiment for a little extra umph.

Elegance Made Easy

To recreate this card,  start with a layer of Sahara Sand card stock cut to 4 1/8″ by 5 3/8″  and add to a card base made of Thick Basic White card stock.

Then cut a panel of Basic Black card stock to 3/4″ x 5″ and emboss with the Tasteful Textiles embossing folder.

The dimensions of the DSP and the Pool Party card stock pieces are 2 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ and 2 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ respectively. Layer them onto the center of the embossed panel.

Stamp the large flower from the Shaded Summer stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black  onto a piece of Basic White card stock and die cut using the die from the Summer Shadow dies.  Add to the card with your favorite adhesive and a dimensional on the top flower.

On a scrap piece of Basic White card stock, stamp the sentiment in VersaMark and heat emboss with Black embossing powder.  I used the Label Me Fancy Punch for the sentiment and I adhered it to the card using dimensionals.

The finishing touches I used for this card are a bow made with Pool Party Sheer Ribbon, and Pearl Basic Jewels colored to match with Light Pool Party Stampin’ Blends.

Complete the ensemble by stamping the front of the envelope and adding a piece of colored DSP to the envelope flap.
