Story of Elegance

Welcome to Thanksgiving week!

What a blessing it is to be able to say that.  Thank you stopping by.  I’m grateful for those of you who stop by, share a thought or word of appreciation or both.  It blesses me.

Given that I made cards all the time, you would think that I would have my Christmas card all done and ready to start preparing them to mail.  If only!  So, this week I’m sharing a couple of super easy Christmas cards with a little bling.  Easy to do, especially if you have to make a dozen or so.  You can whip these out in no time.

Punch bundles are the best when it comes to quick crafting.  The Stars are Shining Bundle is a perfect choice to crank out those holiday cards in a jiffy!

I love a heat embossed sentiment, and both cards this week will feature this easy technique.   In my opinion, heat embossing adds a lot of polish to your card without a lot of work or time.  Gotta love that!

Here’s today’s card:

Stars are Shining Bundle

This card uses retired DSP (I’ll bet you have some on hand too), but as you can see, any DSP will work, and you can emboss and die cut in other metals  Silver and Gold to achieve the same look.

A Closer Look

Elegance Made Easy

I used a 1 1/12″ x 5 1/4″ inch strip of DSP and adhered it to a 4″ x 5 1/4″ panel of Very Vanilla  card stock, stamped the sentiment using Versamark and heat embossed with Copper, then added the panel to a card base made with Thick Very Vanilla card stock.

Next I ran a small piece of Copper Foil through the Tasteful Textile embossing folder and punched stars using the Starlit punch from the bundle and adhered them randomly onto the panel with glue.

To finish I added Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels among the stars.

I added a coordinating piece of DSP to the envelope flap to complete.
