Story of Elegance

Friday is here!  I’m soo thankful.  I hope that your week went well and that you are healthy, happy and safe.

As promised, today I’m sharing another of the cards that I made using the Sweet Conversations Bundle, but this time, the card is intended for my grandson, so it’s more masculine in design.  If there is such a thing…..

Here’s my card.

Valentine's Day card made with Stampin' Up! products

Sweet Conversations Valentine’s Day card for him

In the card that I shared on Tuesday, I used the Sweet Talk Designer Series Paper (DSP.)  For today’s card, I used one of the designs in the Abstract Beauty DSP.  The Misty Moonlight and gold paper seemed to be perfect for the look I wanted.

Because I was using such a small peek of the paper, the random splatters of gold worked.

A Closer Look

Elegance Made Easy

Here’s how to recreate this card.

To start, cut a 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″  piece of Misty Moonlight card stock and add it to a card base made with Thick Basic White card stock.

Next, cut a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic White card stock and emboss it using the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder.  Next using the 6 heart die from the Sweet Hearts die set, die cut about 2 inches from the top of the embossed panel.  Adhere a 3 1/2″ x 1″ piece of Abstract Beauty DSP behind the open die cut on the back side of the embossed panel.

Then, die cut three more strips of 6 hearts, two in Misty Moonlight and one in Basic White.  Add the embossed hearts from the earlier cut to the top of top of the Basic White cut and add to the center.  Adhere the two Misty Moonlight die cut hearts as shown above and beneath the embossed hearts.  Adhere the embossed panel to the Misty Moonlight card stock panel.

Stamp the Happy Valentine’s Day sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink onto a 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ piece of Basic White Card stock.  Use paper snips to angle cut the ends.  Add the sentiment to the card about an inch below the last row of hearts using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To complete the project, die cut a tiny heart in Abstract Beauty DSP using the heart die from the Sweet Hearts die set and add it to the card beneath the sentiment.
