Story of Elegance

Hello and thanks for stopping by!

I’m so glad that I changed my mind and purchased the Two-Tone Flora Bundle.  (Originally this set was on my purchase later list.)  This stamp and die bundle has so many possibilities!  The stamp set doesn’t include any sentiment stamps but I have plenty in my stash and for today’s card so I used a stamp from the Beautifully Happy stamp set that you can get FREE with purchase during SALE-A-BRATION.  The Beautifully Happy stamp set is only available until February 28th or while supplies last.  I also used a die from the Framed Florets die set to create the oval.  This versatile stamp set is going to be used often.

Here’s the card I made:

Two-Tone Flora – Thank You

There’s lots of sweet detail in this card and it is added easily with the beautiful background die from the Two-Tone Flora die set and the Oval from the Framed Florets die set.

A Closer Look

For the inside, I stamped a flower to coordinate with the card front.

Elegance Made Easy

Following are the quick steps to recreate this card.

First, make your cuts:

  • Basic White card stock  – 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″  Die cut using the background die from the Two-Tone Flora die set.
  • Basic White card stock – 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ Die cut using the Framed Floret die to create the oval.
  • Early Expresso card stock – cut just under 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
  • Die cuts:
    • as noted above

Add the Early Expresso panel to the back of the die cut background panel and then add to the front of an A2 card base made with Thick Basic White card stock.  Note:  An A2 card base is made by scoring a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of card stock scored and folded at 4 1/4″.

Use the largest flower in the Two-Tone Flora stamp to stamp a flower onto a scrap of Basic White card stock using Crumb Cake ink for the base (solid stamp) and Early Expresso ink for the accent.  Die cut the flower using the coordinating die from the Two-Tone Flora stamp set.   Even if you mis-stamp the base color as I did, it will often show as an accent.  I love that.

Stamp the leaves onto the die cut oval using Early Expresso ink.

Add the die cut flower to the stamped oval using Dimensionals.

Stamp the sentiment onto the oval beneath the flower and the leaves, then add the oval to the card front.

Add a bow the made with white craft store ribbon to the base of the flower and Pearl Basic Jewels to your liking.

To complete the project, stamp a flower on the envelope front and flap to coordinate with the card front.
